TOP 5 HISTORICAL KOREAN DRAMAS

Like everyone who likes South Korea's culture and entertainment, I like to watch Korean dramas too whether historical or not. Honestly, I usually prefer melodrama ones or classic love stories but some historical dramas are really touching and not seeing would be frustrating.

Here are my top 5 ones below!

5. LOVE IN THE MOONLIGHT - 2016

Starring Park Bogum and Kim Yoo Jung
Episodes: 18

Such a lovely historical love story between Joseon's Crown Prince Hyomyeong and Hong Ra-On the girl, who doesn't know her actual identity. I love this drama because it is easy to watch. Simple and sweet.

4. THE MOON THAT EMBRACES THE SUN - 2012

Starring Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In
Episodes: 20

One word is enough why you should watch this drama, Kim Soo Hyun. As a Kpop fan, you already know how popular he is both in Korea and overseas. I think this is the first drama it helped to brighten his shine. Also, Han Ga In is such a successful actress too. Their acting skills make valuable to watch it.

3. GU FAMILY BOOK - 2013

Starring Bae Suzy and Lee Seung Gi
Episodes: 24

This drama is so touching! I remember that I cried during the last 4 episodes. A love affair between Kang Chi, who is half animal and half human, and Yeo Wool who already knew her love has an unfortunate ending.

2. ROOFTOP PRINCE - 2012

Starring Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min
Episodes: 20

I always like fantastical stories, and this drama includes a time travel from Joseon to present day. That is why it is really enjoyable to watch. Han Ji Min and Park Yoo Chun's chemistry is to die for! I think they are one of my favorite Korean drama couples of all the time.

1. SCARLET HEART RYEO MOON LOVERS - 2016

Starring IU and Lee Jun Ki
Episodes: 20

Of course, the 1st place belongs to Moon Lovers! Too many tears, too many fears... Confessions, arguments, deaths, and breakups. It is another time travel story but this time from present time to Joseon. Despite Knetizen's overall opinion, international K - fans really like this drama and I am one of them already. However, strangely I prefer Wang Wook and Hae Soo's love. I always think Wang So is so rude to Hae Soo and doesn't show his feelings properly.
